Swimmer's Code Of Conduct

All Swimmers sign the Swimmer's Code of Conduct as part of the registration process.

Swimmer Code of Conduct

The Sierra County Swim Team and TorC Tiger Shark Swim Team is a recreational youth program. The purpose of this code of conduct is to ensure that every swimmer is provided the opportunity to reach their individual goals while contributing to the team.

A swimmer’s conduct at all swim team events should support every other swimmer’s ability to learn and the coach’s ability to teach. Each swimmer will commit to strive for their goals and for the good of the team.

Basic Swimmer responsibilities:

  • Swim for the fun of it, not just to win, please parents or coaches. Swimming should be fun, winning is a bonus.
  • Swimmers should be on time, for all practices and meets. Team practice is valuable.
  • Swimmers are expected to attend as many meets as possible.
  • Wear your team swim suit and team caps to all meets. This displays team spirit and makes it easier to identify swimmers on the block and in the water.
  • Swimmers should be active participants in regular practices, swim meets, fundraising events and all other team activities.
  • Be committed to putting forth your best effort every day.
  • The coaches and volunteers are here to help you. You are expected to pay attention, listen and follow all instructions. If clarification is needed, ask politely.
  • Stay focused and support a productive environment for your fellow swimmers.
